We are seeking a Documentation Manager:
Manages the preparation and editing of operation and maintenance manuals and related technical documentation.
Directly, or through subordinate supervisors, manages the research, preparation and editing of operation and maintenance manuals and related technical documentation.
Supervises assigned technical documentation staff, including non-exempt Technical Writers.
Ensures documents prepared firsthand and by subordinates meet editorial and customer specifications and adhere to standards for quality, graphics, format, and style.
Research, prepare and edit complex technical documents for publication, including user's manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.
Oversees the creation of original digital and multi-media technical materials.
Assist the PM with the planning, conduct, and follow-up for technical conferences/programs.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Assiste the PM in managing the customer Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance monitoring and reporting metrics. Strong project schedule and project metrics.
Works proactively to foster a team-oriented approach to applying resources and exceeding customer expectations.
Has the potential to become a team lead position.
Participates in special projects as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism or a related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.
8-10 years of related experience managing the preparation and editing of technical documentation and leading teams to exceed performance standards.
MS Office proficieny required.
Project management background is very helpful.
Service Level Agreement (SLA) support background is very helpful.
Desire and ability for hands-on team and technical leadership very desireable.
