Systems Engineering Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced System Engineer Manager / Operations Manager to lead our Enterprise IT services team with a focus on Exchange, Active Directory, Web Services, and SharePoint. This role requires deep technical expertise in these core Microsoft technologies along with strong operational leadership capabilities to manage a team responsible for VDI, desktop patching, and imaging.

HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEERING MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

● Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of system engineers and operations staff.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including task assignment, managing backlog of efforts and prioritizing implementation, performance management, and professional development.

● Infrastructure Management:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Exchange, Active Directory, Web Services, and SharePoint environments.

  • Ensure high availability, security, and performance of these critical systems.

  • Implement and manage monitoring and alerting solutions for proactive issue resolution.

● Operational Support:

  • Provide operational support for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.

  • Manage desktop patching schedule and imaging processes to ensure efficient deployment and maintenance.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to VDI, desktop environments, and system integrations.

● Project Management:

  • Lead infrastructure projects from planning through execution and deployment.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved within scope and budget.

●Documentation and Compliance:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, operational procedures, and policies.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science

● Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience

● Required Technical Skills: Expertise in Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, SharePoint, and Web Services administration and architecture.

● Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/Poly

● Required Skills and Abilities: Strong understanding of VDI technologies (e.g.Citrix Virtual Apps), desktop patching, and imaging processes.

● Preferred Skills: Experience in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-level IT infrastructure.

● Solid project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.

● Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The likely salary range for this position is $153,000 - $207,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
