General Dynamics Information Technology Incident Manager in Arlington, Virginia

Job Description

The Incident Manager will facilitate a team of personnel who perform the role of primary Incident Management for all incident response and restoration requiring focused response, investigation, and remediation.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensures assigned personnel follow the appropriate incident escalation and reporting procedures; coordinate response action to identified incidents.

  • Recommends a course of action on each incident and create, manage, and ensure all actions taken are recorded and serve as initial POC for Events of Interest reported both internally and externally.

  • Provides support promptly and efficiently through troubleshooting conference bridges and email communications.

  • Monitor Remedy Que for Service Response and Service Restoral incidents

  • Ingest, triage, prioritize, assign, track, document, and drive service disruption incidents to a resolution

  • Provide technical support in response to network transport incidents and; proficient in identifying network incident root causes and information necessary to determine root cause

  • Correlate, map, and fuse any and all incidents through the problem management process

  • Document technical details of current or potential incidents. Manage information, requests, that may be considered out of the scope of the incident management and route appropriately

  • Coordinate, communicate, share information, and work closely with teams within JSP Enterprise Transport Management and vendor SME’s

  • Initiates and maintains contact with affected customers during incident process.

  • Develops Standard Operating Procedures and Performance Metrics

  • Provides oversight of incident, response, content, and restoration to mission partners in maintaining an understanding of incidents that could impact networks and assets.

  • Provide significant insight into the management of complex incident responses

  • Must be flexible and able to work within a 24 x 7 x 365 support environment.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience


  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.

  • Current DoD 8570 IAT II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA Security) or higher

  • 8-10 years of related experience in IT/Network Operations
