HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER EXPERT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Work closely with the client for work prioritization.

  • Execute systems engineering tasks as necessary to support the client's information technology enterprise.

  • Provide technical support and assist in the resolution of escalated technical issues.

  • Plan and manage hardware (HW) and software (SW) modifications and upgrades.

  • Support the activities and future growth of the clinet's virtual environment through vendor discussions, Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), system patching and upgrades, Assessment & Accreditation (A&A) efforts, backup solutions, and Disaster Recovery (DR) implementation and support the transition of on-prem systems to an AWS cloud environment.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

  • Experience: 15+ years

  • Technical skills:

  • Demonstrated experience supporting stand-alone IT environments at the highest security levels.

  • Demonstrated experience planning and leading software modifications and upgrades.

  • Demonstrated experience managing an on-premises virtual infrastructure.

  • Demonstrated experience transitioning an on-premises virtual solutions to a virtual private cloud (VPC), configuring and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure at the highest security levels.

  • Demonstrated experience planning, implementing, and maintaining a Disaster Recovery Site.

  • Demonstrated experience transitioning an on-premises virtual solution to a virtual private cloud (VPC).

  • Demonstrated experience managing SW and HW systems within an infrastructure that includes Microsoft (i.e. Remote Desktop and Active Directory), Nutanix (i.e. AHV, Failover Cluster Manager, and Prism), Rubrik, Rapid7, SPLUNK, and McAfee.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting ANY of the following tools: TeamMate+™, TeamMateAM™, TeamMate Analytics ™, Case Management Tracking System (CMTS), Idea™, MS Office Suite, MS Server 2012/2019.

  • Demonstrated experience interacting with end users to provide guidance and hands-on support to help resolve problems, concerns, and errors and to explain or demonstrate procedures and techniques.

  • Demonstrated experience maintaining system accreditation.

  • Demonstrated experience conducting security audits of virtual environments in collaboration with external groups.

  • May require working occasional nights, weekends and holidays as necessary

  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI with Polygraph

  • Desired skills and abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience with process automation such as PowerShell, C, Python, GitHub.

  • Demonstrated experience making virtual machine configuration changes necessary to resolve trouble tickets or to comply with the client's requirements and IT best practices.

  • Demonstrated experience administering user access by adding and deleting user accounts, maintaining user permissions and access privileges.

  • Demonstrated experience making application software and operating system configuration changes necessary to resolve trouble tickets or to comply with the client's requirements and IT best practices.

  • Demonstrated experience implementing, with oversight, the client's requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience evaluating and mitigating software security vulnerabilities.

  • Demonstrated experience with the client's unique IT infrastructure and ongoing projects.

  • Demonstrated experience with the the client's audit and analysis software packages

  • Demonstrated experience communicating orally and in writing with stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated experience as a Data Transfer Officer (DTO).

  • Demonstrated experience executing O&M tasks as necessary to support the Sponsor’s software and hardware infrastructure.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting TeamMate+, TeamMateAM, and TeamMate Analytics.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting Case Management Tracking System (CMTS).

  • Location: Chantilly, VA (On Customer Site)

The likely salary range for this position is $175,845 - $237,908. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
