Job Description:

We are looking for a Systems Engineer Advisor in Columbia, MD!

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop operational concepts and their translation into NextGen capabilities, operational improvements, and performance requirements.

  • Record and track system requirements and update requirements and other systems engineering documents.

  • Develop, analyze, and decompose system requirements.

  • Assist in requirements definition and decomposition.

  • Develop and assess system and program alternatives.

  • Support operational and development analysis, technology evolution plans and transition strategies and be able to identify and assess systems alternative solutions, gaps, shortfalls and risks.

  • Participate in project teams with process owners, developers and architects on design and implementation.

  • Participate in design reviews, program reviews and technical interchange meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BSCE/BSCS or equivalent + 9 yrs related experience, or MS + 7 yrs related experience

  • Secret Clearance

  • Expertise in Systems Engineering and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Must have in-depth knowledge of computer operating systems, hardware and software.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential to understanding a client's needs and providing technical support to customers with a non-technical background.

  • Must understand current technologies, often requiring continuing education, and be able to apply that knowledge in various settings.

  • Linux/Unix scripting
