Our work depends on an Application Security Tester (Scala) joining our MATS team remotely to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) activities.

As an Application Security Tester (Scala) you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on an Application Security Tester (Scala) joining our team to evaluates application security in all phases of the software development life cycle. You will work closely with team members to define application security best practices, perform software security testing of web applications and Rest APIs, and perform analysis of security issues to support the identification, interpretation, and remediation of vulnerabilities across a variety of applications, programming languages, and platforms.

Required Skills :

  • 3+ years of hands-on experince with a pplication security testing of web applications and REST APIs

  • Understanding of OWASP Top 10; must be able to describe what they are, impacts, and resolutions

  • Beginner-level hands-on experince performing Static Application Security Testing ( SAST ), Dynamic Application Security Testing ( DAST ), and Third Part Software Composition Analysis ( SCA )

  • Hands-on experience using Fortify , Nexus IQ , ZAP Proxy and Jenkins

  • Familiarity with reading and analyzing programming languages, including Java , JavaScript and Scala

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks such as, but not limited to: SAFe, Scrum, Kanban

  • Must be able to obtain Federal Public Trust clearance.

  • Must have established residency in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 1 or more recognized security analyst/testing certification(s), such as CEH, GWAPT, ECSA, or LPT

  • Experince with SmartBear ReadyAPI, Nessus Vulnerability Scanner and Linux

  • Exposure to Governance, Risk and Compliance tools and platforms

  • Agile certification in SAFe Practitioner, SAFe Agilist, CSM or other agile certifications

  • Healthcare Service Industry or Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) experience

  • Experience working with JIRA and Confluence

  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member

  • Strong organizational, attention-to-detail, multi-tasking, and time-management skills

The likely salary range for this position is $74,315 - $100,545. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
