Task and responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to the following:
Provide advice and counsel to human resources and management regarding compliance with state and federal labor and employment laws.
Conduct and/or manage investigations and compliance audits; develop, implement and oversee action plans to remedy any compliance deficiencies.
Draft and deliver training programs to various internal groups and identify and communicate new labor and employment law requirements.
Review, draft, and revise various types of documents such as contracts, separation agreements, position statements, and policies.
Represent the Company before state and federal administrative agencies, including the OFCCP, the Wage and Hour Division, and EEOC.Provide advice on traditional labor matters, including review and negotiation of collective bargaining agreements and NLRA compliance.
Provide advice on international law issues associated with a global workforce.
Manage employment litigation and interface with outside counsel.
To qualify, you must meet these basic qualifications:
5-7 years total legal experience, most of which is concentrated in employment law; experience working with government contractors preferred.
Licensed to practice law in at least one state, preferably Virginia.• Experience in providing advice responsively and effectively, with particular emphasis on Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, SCA, employment-related torts and litigation.Experience in conducting investigations, and responding to demand letters and government agencies.• Excellent interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills including experience in writing legal memoranda, opinion letters, position statements and briefs.• Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.• Ability to work in complex and fast-paced environments with multiple projects and priorities.
