Our work depends on a Deploy Automation Engineer joining our MATS team remotely to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) activities.

As a Deploy Automation Engineer you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on Deploy Automation Engineer joining our team to analyze, design, code, and test multiple components of automated deployment pipelines across multiple application systems, and to perform maintenance, enhancements and troubleshooting of deployment tools.

At GDIT, we put our people first. As a Deploy Automation Engineer, a typical day will include:

  • Providing ongoing technical support and maintenance of production and development systems and software products (both remote and onsite) and for configured services running on various platforms (operating within a defined operating model and processes).

  • Providing hardware/software support and implement technology at the operating system-level across all server and network areas, and for particular software solutions/vendors/brands.

  • Providing L1 and L2/ basic and intermediate level troubleshooting.

  • Creating and maintaining fully automated Continuous Development (CD) processes for multiple Linux environments

  • Creating/updating build and deployment scripts.

  • Supporting CD tools integration/ operations/ change management, and maintenance.

  • Supporting full automation of CD/Testing.

  • Developing policies, standards, guidelines, governance, and related guidance for both CD operations and for work of developers/infrastructure/O&M.

  • Enabling DevOps by moving code from Dev/ Test to Staging and Production.

  • Troubleshooting issues along the CI/CD pipeline.

  • Understanding the AWS Architecture.

  • On-boarding/training and supporting developers from source control through build automation, merge resolution, CI, test automation, deployment based on tools usage and policies, standards.

Required Skills :

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of relevant hands-on Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) experience

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience providing L1 and L2 technical software support on a large enterprise system

  • Advanced experience with RedHat Linux, Ansible, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Infrastructure, UNIX Shell Scripting, and Technology Troubleshooting

  • Proficient with AWS and Unix Platforms, including Linux/AIX/Solaris/Mac OS X/others

  • Proficient with Shell and Jenkins

  • Hands-on experience with Python and Terraform

  • Novice experience with Technology Architecture Design

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks such as, but not limited to: SAFe, Scrum, Kanban

  • Must be able to obtain Federal Public Trust clearance.

  • Must have established residency in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years.

Preferred Skills:

  • AWS Certification(s)

  • Agile certification in SAFe Practitioner, SAFe Agilist, CSM or other agile certifications

  • Healthcare Service Industry or Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) experience

  • Experience working with JIRA and Confluence

  • Strong organizational, attention-to-detail, multi-tasking, and time-management skills

  • Ability to work independently and interact regularly with government and non-government stakeholders at multiple levels of authority

The likely salary range for this position is $95,200 - $128,800. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
