General Dynamics Information Technology Systems Administrator in Fairfax, Virginia
This position will directly support the Department of Education (DoE) Federal Student Aid (FSA) Debt Management Collect System (DMCS) Data Center Operations and will report directly to the Data Center Operations Manager.
This System Administrator will assist in the effective provisioning; installation/configuraiton; operation; and maintenance of virtual systems as well as the provisioning and maintenance of MS Active Directory accounts. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation. This individual assists in ensuring that systems hardware; operating systems; software systems; and related procedures adhere to organizational guidelines. This individual will also assist in developing audit documentation as well as remediation of finds to ensure compliance.
This individual will assist project teams with technical issues in the initation and planning phases of our standard Project Management Methodology. These activites include the definition of needs; benefits and technical strategy; research and development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing; testing and rolling-out of solutions.
This individual will actively participate in Servicce Request Management; Incident Management and Problem Management as defined in ITIL v3. This individual's role will be to assist in restoration of services as well as working within a team to determine the root cause of any outages. This individual will assist in identifying solutions to identified problems within the scope of the IT contract as well as the roll out of approved solutions.
This position is located within the Washington DC metro area and travel requirements are minimal. Telecommute is an option.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
4+ years of experience with Windows Active Directory administration and Group Policy management
4+ years of experience implementing; managing; and maintaining Microsoft Windows server environments
2+ years of experience with server virtualization technologies
Experience with public facing web based application
Technical documentation experience
Ability to assist the technical lead on server and network infrastructure projects
Ability to participate in business requirement gathering efforts
Ability to assist in the translation of business requirements into technical design
Ability to participate as needed in 24x7 support operations and planned maintenance activities
Experience securing and maintaining a FedRAMP certified system
1+ years of experience with NIST 800-53 security controls
Experience with FICO Deb Manager products and solutions a strong plus
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or equivalent certification
