Lead Information Technology Project Manager

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

As a Lead IT Project Manager you will have the opportunity to drive the execution of IT architecture and engineering activities to support the USCIS enterprise across major enterprise initiatives impacting the agency including Digitization, Robotic Process Automation, Machine Learning, Storage Migration Solutioning, Zero Trust architecture, IPv6, Migration to the Cloud environment, and Software-Defined Network (SDN). This position ensures that projects are completed to specification, within an established time frame and budget.

  • Provide oversight, guidance, direction, and leadership to all contracted team members assigned

  • Provide briefings to leadership, create reports and documentation on demand, ensure deliverable compliance, and interface between customer organization and team members

  • Work with the program manager to provide effective and efficient management of staff, process and project initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring and controlling all collaborative efforts of assigned projects

  • Conduct regular SCRUMs and checkpoints to determine progress and address any questions or challenges, and risks

  • Assist in the creation of project guidelines, policies, standards and procedures

  • Create and deliver presentations, and represent the team in briefings and in presentations

  • Converse and provide recommendations to the team and federal government customer team on activities and actions

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education : Bachelors Degree Computer Science or related field

  • Experience : 12 yrs

  • 8+ years of IT Project Management, with a minimum of 5 years serving as IT Project Manager

  • Knowledge of Agile methodology, to direct and coordinate the day-to-day activities, tasks and deliverables required from the project team according to the project plan.

  • Knowledge of advanced IT concepts and basic operating principles of data communications and information systems hardware and software.

  • Knowledge of systems development lifecycle approaches as they apply to Project Management for the establishment, management and delivery of IT Products and Solutions.

  • Experience providing strategic planning and project management to include monitoring and controlling efforts as well as managing scope.

  • Experience serving as a Scrum Master, facilitating scrum meetings, and leading sprint planning/demo/retrospective meetings effectively.

  • Experience developing project status reports to project owners including scheduling, cost, scope, testing, changes, resource availabilities and task status.

  • Experience facilitating training and informational sessions.

  • Security clearance level : Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust Suitability and a DHS Entry on Duty (EOD)

The likely salary range for this position is $144,500 - $195,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
