Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager (Remote) who holds active secret clearance, preferred.

The position will support a US Air Force program that is playing a major role in strengthening and modernizing America's Strategic Deterrent Force. GDIT will develop and deliver a digital engineering design solution that enables and integrates the program’s complete set of data, tools, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) activities, and makes them available to internal and appropriate external engineering and programmatic stakeholders throughout the program’s lifecycle.

This effort will culminate in an abstracted, highly transportable environment delivered to the Government, to be instantiated “virtually” on the Government’s network infrastructure and updated during the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of weapon system development.

The duties of a Systems Engineering Manager will include:

Responsibilities:

  • Manages a medium to large team or department of multiple disciplines. Medium to High Complexity.

  • Responsible for the requirements translation and customer management.

  • May perform high level technical services on assigned task(s).

  • Conducts planning and provides recommendations to client on task workloads.

  • Attends customer meetings and may serve as client liaison.

  • Interacts with vendors, other agencies, and other client staff and stakeholders.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and fostering collaboration.

  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised with an emphasis on problem solving.

  • Identify, address, and communicate project risks, dependencies, impacts.

Minimum/General Experience/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or additional years of experience.

  • A minimum of 5+ years' experience in managing technical projects following Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.

  • Skilled at managing engineers that design and develop system architecture for new or existing computer systems.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be effective at communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Agile: Atlassian Jira, Confluence experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Project Management Experience

  • Familiar with SAFe methodology

  • Prior experience as a Software Developer, Cloud Developer, or Systems Engineer

  • Familiarity with Cloud and DevSecOps principles

  • Active Secret Clearance or higher

  • Remote with ability to travel 10% or less to greater Salt Lake, UT ar

The likely salary range for this position is $136,000 - $184,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
