General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) seeks a highly motivated and experienced Enterprise Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Administrator to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) mission in Fort Belvoir, VA. This position will support the Defense Stockpile Management Systems (DSMS) which includes the following systems: Defense Integration and Management of Nuclear Data Services (DIAMONDS), Joint Application Design Environment (JADE), Nuclear Inventory Management and Cataloging System (NIMACS), Government Acceptance Testing (GAT), and DIAMONDS Accountability Training System (DATS).

HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical operation teams to analyze, develop, configure, test, integrate, and maintain all associated RHEL systems.

  • Develop and maintain efficient and scalable RHEL platform configuration management practices, services, and baseline configurations.

  • Execute needs assessments, gap analyses, and develop associated solutions for RHEL platforms.

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain patches, configurations, upgrades, and applicable documentation for RHEL platforms.

  • Troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve RHEL platform issues.

  • Implement, manage, and audit DISA STIGs and the remediation or mitigation of vulnerabilities associated with RHEL platforms and services.

  • Acts as one of the primary points of contact to provide RHEL platform support for application associated systems and services.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Advanced problem solving and critical thinking abilities.

  • Adept in the exclusive use and navigation of the RHEL command line interface.

  • Holistic understanding of RHEL platform interactions with external applications, platforms, and services (e.g., Active Directory/LDAP integration, network file service protocols, Active Directory Certificate Services).

  • Intermediate RHEL 7 and 8 platform system administration skills and knowledge of configuration of technologies and services provided.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and utilization of Ansible ad hoc and playbook executions.

  • Significant experience with the development and execution of shell scripts.

  • Basic knowledge and operation of Windows based platforms, services, and applications.

  • Basic knowledge and operation of VMware vSphere 7 (or later).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience supporting: Appian Platform, Tenable Security Center + Nessus (ACAS), Trellix ESS (client-side), Puppet, Chef, IdM, and git repositories.

  • Intermediate experience with RHEL 7 and 8 platform system engineering and concepts (e.g., automation, orchestration, strategic planning).

  • Appreciation and understanding of DevSecOps concepts and practices.

  • Basic knowledge of SecurID RSA multifactor authentication RHEL client configurations.

  • Strong work ethic, motivation, and a high desire to learn.

  • Effective time management and organization skills.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in a related field, this can be substituted by work experience.

  • Required: 5+ years of experience.

  • Required: Fully adjudicated Top Secret clearance w/ TS/SCI eligibility.

  • Required Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE)

  • Preferred Certifications: Red Hat (e.g., Red Hat Certified System Administrator/RHCSA), Oracle Certified Professional - Oracle Linux System Administrator/OCP - OLSA)

The likely salary range for this position is $110,500 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
