GDIT is seeking an enthusiastic Network Engineer Advisor seeking to contribute his/her experience in the IT field by joining our team in support of the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission of the Airforce at Langley AFB, VA.

The Senior Level Network Engineering advises the 480 ISRW Technical Director/A6, regarding senior-level management and technical integration of IT technologies, including cloud computing solutions for the Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) and Command, Control, Computer and Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) activities.

Network Engineer Advisor

Subtasks. The Contractor shall: Provide Sr level engineering support and guidance for all future technologies and current issues impacting current and planned technologies and/or integration activities. Provides Subject Matter level knowledge while collaborating w ith stakeholders to design and implement all environments based on operational requirements

Apply advanced networking concepts in the analysis, study, and design of architectures

Analyze network characteristics (e.g., traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput) and recommend procurement, removal, and modification to existing network components

Design, optimize, and implement a standardized network topology and configuration amongst 480 ISRW sites

Diagnose and recommend remediation of problems and plan and coordinate installations, transitions, and cutovers of network components and capabilities

Perform periodic reviews, at the request of the Government, of existing network designs and capabilities with the goal of making refinements, reducing operating overhead, enhancing network throughput, improving reliability and security, and improving current network topologies

Provide systems engineering support to resolve problems, transform customer requirements into technical solutions, generate information for decision makers, and provide information for follow-on processes

Provide technical analysis and engineering support for all proposed and validated system requirements for C4ISR in support of operational requirements

Provide technical solutions to facilitate multi-intelligence data integration into DCGS

Devise strategies to synchronize the insertion of new ISR correlated/fused data with the efficient planning, direction, and operational employment of theater aerospace, ground, and naval forces

Assess the feasibility of integrating ISR systems into DCGS, while minimizing the impact to current operations

Develop system engineering documentation (i.e. white papers, reports/studies, briefings) to formalize concepts

Evaluate and propose designs and reconfiguration parameters of network to accommodate mission needs

Engage in collaborative activities among the various sites

Review requirements provided by the DCGS Program Office and Information Assurance Office (IAO) to determine bandwidth, performance, and Controlled Interface (CI) settings for establishing network configuration baselines

Coordinate with 480th Leadership an program office on new projects to advise on current architecture impacts

Review and provide system engineering level rigor to packages and advise Government leadership of recommendation within seven (7) duty (work) days of receipt

Conduct detailed engineering assessment for mission system requirements

Participate in system requirements reviews, technical exchanges, and design reviews as directed

Track, at a minimum, the number of sites supported, numbers of systems supported, managed (mission) equipment, network devices, circuits supported, tickets/PSRs/NSRs opened and closed, rack space, projects reviewed (1067s/CCB/IPTs/telecons etc.), projects supported (CAN upgrades, new installs, etc.) firewall traffic, systems audited, and accounts managed (local and remote)

KSA’s:

Minimum of 15 years of IT engineering experience required, with 5 years of C4ISR/DCGS engineering experience preferred or Bachelors’ degree in IT field and 10 years IT experience

Possess IAT Level II certifications

Preferred: Possess or obtain CCNA and/or Cloud Certification

The likely salary range for this position is $110,500 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
