GDIT is seeking a highly motivated and experienced AWS Cloud Engineer for migrating existing enterprise-level applications and infrastructure into Amazon Web Services (AWS). The chosen candidate will have a passion for Cloud, DevOps, and CI/CD challenges. Plus, be a quick learner who desires to expand their knowledge and skills in a flexible environment.
This position requires a DoD clearance at Secret or above
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Design, enable and deliver scalable & automated strategy – Infrastructure as Code
Build DevOps roadmap for the organization.
Ensure CI/CD pipelines are built and executed with automation and utilization of appropriate DevOps tools – both Cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
Design, develop & support all AWS activities for various environments.
High level of expertise with AWS - EC2, ECS, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Routing, Sub-netting and VPC’s (1-2 years)
Hands-on experience with Puppet, Chef, Docker, Kubernetes and other container implementations
Experience with AWS migrations, GovCloud preferred
Hands-on experience with DevOps/Automation tools including AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, Jenkins, Git
Experienced with implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments
Working knowledge of common AWS services used for development and how they can be integrated into a complete, deployable solution, such as API Gateway, DyanamoDB, and Lambdas
Scripting knowledge such as Bash, Python and/or other programming skills
Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience
AWS certifications desired
Strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a cloud or virtualized environment
Extremely good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Ability to manage tasks like a project (with communication)
Eye for detail and identifying problems
Strong work ethic with good time management with ability to work with diverse teams and lead meetings.
This position requires an individual who possesses a DoD Secret clearance at minimum.
The client requires 8140/8570 IAT Level II within three months of hiring.
Web technologies like Apache, Tomcat, Nginx, HAProxy, MySQL and others (3-5 years)
Experience with Security- IAM, Active Directory, MFA, Tenable/Nessus, Splunk, STIG Hardening
System Administration or development experience with RedHat Linux
