Job Description: Commanders Communications Team Task Lead
GDIT has an immediate opening for a Commanders Communications Team Task Lead supporting the Executive Communications Team on the CITS contract for USCENTCOM. The position is based in Tampa, Florida.
Position Overview: The Commanders Communications Team Task Lead will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the Commanders Communications equipment that include Windows products, ensuring their security, availability, and performance. This role involves regular patching, troubleshooting, and collaborating with other IT teams to implement infrastructure solutions that align with command requirements. Additionally, in this role the member will be leading maintenance and operational teams the prepares equipment for travel requirements that support Sr Leaders in CENTCOM.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead a Team of highly qualified maintenance and operations professionals.
Brief operational status to Government and Contract Senior Leaders.
Understanding of En-Route and Aircraft communications capabilities.
Lead and track regular maintenance tasks including patching and remediation.
Manage certificate lifecycle management processes for secure communication assets.
Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions.
Ensure compliance with security policies, regulations, and best practices.
Install critical system patches and perform system upgrades.
Interact with end-users to understand and evaluate functional requirements.
Interface with third-party vendors for troubleshooting and support.
Maintain system documentation and prepare process guides.
Support projects to enhance operational efficiency and security.
Track and escalate problems at the appropriate priority level.
Produce management reports and informational packets to support process improvements.
Send equipment coordination requests to host nation countries and track status.
Responsible for COMSEC account.
Additional Responsibilities:
System performance tuning and optimization.
Review and preparation of comprehensive documentation for systems.
Support cross-functional IT teams and projects.
Education and Certifications:
- Required: Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification.
Desired Certifications:
- ITIL 4 Foundation Certification
Required Skills:
Experience in systems administration and infrastructure management.
Ability to prepare comprehensive documentation for systems administration tasks.
Desired Skills:
Experience with USCENTCOM and familiarity with its mission.
Experience working in cross-functional IT teams and projects.
Clearance Requirement:

- Required USCENTCOM Exercise support of up to 10% Travel during the Year to OCONUS Locations

This version focuses on server administration tasks, infrastructure management, and maintaining the security and performance of Windows servers, suitable for a Systems Administrator role supporting USCENTCOM in Tampa, Florida.
The likely salary range for this position is $97,750 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
