Job Description:

CSRA is looking for a Systems Engineer to support our federal client located in Manassas, VA. The Systems Engineer performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

The Systems Engineer must be a proven self-starter and skilled generalist who has the confidence to take on whatever projects are needed.

Responsible for day-to-day system operation and administration, patching, upgrades, integration of new components and applications, development and update of SOP documentation, and other duties associated with maintaining and supporting a moderate security system at two data centers and a TOC.

Needs to be a hands on engineer with a systems security mindset.

Need to be comfortable with working On-call, after hours system support two weeks every two months.

Education/Training:

8+ years of experience with Systems Engineering (Linux or Windows Server), bachelors degree preferred.

Would like to see professional certifications such as Redhat or MSCS

Certifications Requirements:

DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher compliant certification, e.g. GSEC, Security+, CISSP. If candidate does not currently possess a compliant certification, one must be obtained within 6 months of employment.

Clearance:

Active Top Secret Clearance required to start on the contract

Experience:

Advanced experience with Redhat Linux or Windows Server Engineer and at least 2 of the following:

  • Cisco firewalls

  • Cisco switching

  • Palo Alto firewalls

  • Symantec End Point Protection (SEPM)

  • Microsoft Active Directory administration

  • F5 LTMs

  • NetAPP Storage administration

  • LDAP

  • PKI

  • Tenable Security Center / Nessus

  • Oracle DB

  • LogRhythm

  • FISMA Security

  • SharePoint
