General Dynamics Information Technology Senior Systems Engineer - Software Packaging in Raleigh, North Carolina

General Dynamics Information Technology provides information technology, systems engineering, professional services and simulation and training to customers in the defense, federal civilian government, health, homeland security, intelligence, state and local government and commercial sectors. Our company delivers IT enterprise solutions, manages large-scale, mission-critical IT programs and provides mission support services.

We have an immediate need for a Systems Engineer with the following duties and responsibilities included (but not limited to):

  • Maintain infrastructure with latest updates and patching.

  • Deployments to distributed systems.

  • Research, design, and recommend solutions to meet requirements.

  • Develop and test automated scripts and processes for software deployment and data gathering

  • Provide support and troubleshoot issues quickly.

  • Develop and document processes and procedures.

This program only accepts US citizens and/or Green Card Holders. The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.


  • Five (5) plus years of systems engineering experience

  • Must be able to write and debug existing code in Windows Powershell 5.0 and batch

  • Strong scripting and packaging experience for administration, automation of processes, and issue resolution

  • Working knowledge of SCCM

  • Experience performing remote deployments and integration of Windows 10 systems in a distributed environment

  • Must have strong knowledge of Windows OS’s

  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft’s Active Directory and Group Policy

  • Good understanding of networking concepts and secure protocols

  • Effective written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to develop clear and concise documentation


A four-year degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
