General Dynamics Information Technology Programmer in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama
Builds and codes applications and/or models using various computer programming languages.
Plans, develops, tests, and documents mainframe-resident and client/server applications programs.
Generates new code and corrects, converts, and/or modifies existing code to meet specifications.
Prepares detailed specifications from which code will be written.
Confers with end-users to analyze specified methods and procedures, identify problems, and document specific requirements.
Writes and updates technical documentation such as users' manuals, product specifications, and training materials.
Performs a variety of testing procedures on assigned products, analyzes test results, and corrects problems.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
We are currently recruiting for a program supporting the development and support responsibilities for several weapon systems and related support systems within the Strategic Systems domain. Representative examples of the Strategic Systems domain include:
Algorithm development, analysis, and testing knowledge
Strong C++ software development
Agile process implementation using tools such as Jira and Confluence
PERL script knowledge
Experience with UNIX or Linux operating systems
Understanding of systems engineering and test engineering
Able to work well in a team environment
Understanding of radar signal and data processing
Real-time mathematical algorithmic programming experience
MATLAB knowledge and experience
Knowledge of systems engineering requirements, test, and verification processes
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Strong interpersonal skills and reporting practices
Strong verbal and written communication skills
