Training Specialist Advisor

Our work depends on Training Specialist Advisor joining our team to Develops; organizes; and conducts training and educational programs for Fleet sailors in support of Surface Combat Systems Training Command San Diego, California. Training program requires ability to conduct traditional classroom instruction; Candidate would serve as a Senior Instructor to train Anti-Submarine Warfare tactics and the tactical employment of Advance Capability Build ASW suites to support employment to including system capabilities and limitations, employment of automated systems, mission planning and execution, and tactical communications. When required, the candidate would provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development for SCSTC courses supporting the operational employment of the Anti-Submarine Weapon Systems.

HOW A TRAINING SPECIALIST ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Provides dynamic teaching & training as well as assessment that require advanced knowledge of U.S. Navy Anti-Submarine and Surface Warfare Capabilities and Limitations.

  • Reviews and analyzes U.S. Navy Anti-Submarine and Surface Warfare Engineering Capabilities and Limitations and U.S. Navy Operational and Tactical doctrine and integrates and conceptualizes the execution of Doctrine optimizing the application of ship's Combat Systems capabilities and limitation in the dynamic operational tactical environment.

  • Conduct synthetic training for Navy tacticians from surface combatants in the operation of the AN/SQQ-89 (V)15 and A(V)15 sonar systems and associated subsystems.

  • Provide sonar supervisor level expertise in the operation and tactical employment of the AN/SQQ-89(V)15 and A(V)15 sonar systems in accordance with current TYCOM training policy and instructions and the ASWC instruction. --Provide instruction on sonar principles and environmental analysis and exploitation to include tactical oceanography.

  • Observes and assesses contemporaries during Practice and Certification Teaches per requirements NAVEDTRA 135.

  • Prepares; reviews; and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guide in support of traditional classroom teaching.

  • Supports Course Reviews and Curriculum Updates; conducts training gap analysis provides formal feedback and recommendation for Course improvement.

  • Documents the training conducted with specifics of the individual areas / watch station and is responsible for generation of a formal assessment of measure of success via written report.

  • Develops; tests; maintains; and delivers moderately complex ASW training programs and related materials in support of SCSTC training objectives. Establishes and reviews course content and objectives.

  • Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.

  • Maintains records of training activities; participant progress; and program effectiveness.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Experience as a qualified, Anti-Submarine Warfare Evaluator (ASWE), Surface/Subsurface Warfare Coordinator (SSUWC) and/or a Master/Afloat Training Specialist in support of SCSTC/TACTRAGRU/ATG is a significant plus. Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing. Travel may be required up to 10% of time.

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.

  • Required Experience: 8+ years of related experience

  • Security Clearance Level: Secret Clearance required

  • Location: SCSTC San Diego

  • US Citizenship Required

The likely salary range for this position is $88,275 - $103,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
