Job Description

Develops, organizes, and conducts training and educational programs for customer personnel in support of Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Mine Warfare (MIW) Mission Package (MP) at Center for Surface Combat Systems CSCS San Diego. Training program requires ability to conduct traditional classroom instruction and laboratory support.

  • Provides dynamic teaching & training as well as assessment that require advanced knowledge of the LCS, MIW, and MP for mine hunting, mine sweeping, mine neutralization tactics, techniques and procedures.

  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct and train side scan sonar post mission analysis (PMA) theory and operational use of AN/AQS-20 PMA hardware and software in support of LCS MIW MP.

  • Conducts assessment of the military personnel’s abilities to demonstrate skills to perform integrated Mine Counter Measures (MCM) tactical planning procedures.

  • Proficient in the use of MineNet Tactical the tactical decision aid (TDA) in performance of integrated MCM operational planning.

  • Prepares, reviews, and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guide in support of LCS MIW MP Course of instruction.

  • Documents the training conducted with specifics of the individual areas and is responsible for generation of a formal assessment of measure of success via written report.

  • Develops, tests, maintains, and delivers moderately complex Navy Combat Systems training programs and related materials in support of CSCS training objectives.

  • Maintains own certification and current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/militaryexperience.

Qualifications

GDIT requirement: 5 years of experience

Navy Instructor NEC 9502 desired

Five (5) years of experience with the required system as either a maintenance technician supervisor or operator supervisor with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman level training environment. Of the five years, one (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems.
