Job Description:

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

The Network engineer's (NE) duties in cloud Service include the following: Cloud services NE shall screen all electronic deliverables or electronically provided information for malicious code using DoD-approved anti-virus software prior to delivery to the Government. The NE shall utilize appropriate controls (i.e., firewalls, password protection, encryption, digital certificates, etc.) at all times to protect contract related information processed, stored or transmitted on the Contractor’s and Government’s computers/servers to ensure confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation. The NE shall ensure provisions are in place that will safeguard all aspects of information operations pertaining to this Agreement in compliance with all applicable PWS references. The Contractor shall ensure Data-at-Rest is required on all portable electronic devices used for transfer of data from DON to contractor or CSP facilities including storage of all types. Encryption/digital signing of communications is required for authentication and non-repudiation.The NE will also provide for Network Normalization. Disparate network, processing, and storage infrastructures impedes internal and external collaboration for the warfighter and mission partners. As such, a foundational aspect of achieving the Joint Information Environment (JIE) is to provide a single, protected information environment that securely, reliably, and seamlessly interconnects users

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BS or equivalent + 8 yrs related experience, or MS + 3 yrs related experience.
