Job Description:

Systems Engineer Senior

Deliver simple solutions to complex problems for new or existing computer systems. Our work depends on Systems Engineer Senior joining our team to configure, maintain, and monitor our data analytic system.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guides the successful completion of major engineering programs may function in a project leadership role

  • Develops advanced solutions to a variety of highly complex engineering problems

  • Perform systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end

  • Provides and applies engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools

  • Performs continual maintenance and provides advanced solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems

  • Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects

  • Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes

  • Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, model formulation, computer architecture analysis and design, and digital systems engineering

  • Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency

  • Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure

  • Implements, manages, and enhances Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools

  • Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance

  • May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals

  • May serve as a team or task lead

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Requires an engineering Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ (8 preferred) years of related IT and engineering experience

PREFFERED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with Splunk, ScienceLogic, and Delinia Secret Server is a plus

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux

  • Knowledgeable PureStorage systems and storage and backup concepts

  • Knowledgeable VMWare products such as vSphere, vCenter, Horizon VDI

  • Knowledgeable Cisco enterprise hardware such as blade servers, next generation firewalls, and other networking components

CLEARANCE

  • Current, active Secret required, TS Eligible

The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
