Job Description

The Coalition Interoperability Assurance and Validation Electronic Warfare (EW), Information Operations (IO), and Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Subject Matter Expert supports the Joint Staff J6 CIAV team with project planning, assessment, and execution support for electronic warfare, information operations, and BMD components of U.S. and NATO/coalition command, control, communiations, computers, and cyber (C5) interoperability assessment planning, data collection, and analysis. The individual will support Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) and Common Operational Picture (COP) friendly force tracking, battlespace objects, and COP management assessments.

General Duties:

  • Plan and execute coalition C5 assessments using the CIAV methodology with EW, IO, and BMD expertise with the Joint Staff DDC5I CIAV team.

  • Support C5 assessments of Combatant Command exercise requirements relative to EW, IO, and BMD data sharing with mission partners.

  • Support project execution, planning, advice, analysis, and support for EW, IO, and BMD in relevant operational systems and architectures.

  • Serve as the CIAV EW/IO/BMD planner, event execution analyst, and event lead responsible for research, site configuration, use cases, and EW/IO/BMD data analysis during Desktop Analysis (DTA) efforts and Assurance and Validation (A&V) events.

  • Attend and/or coordinate regularly scheduled CIAV and related meetings telephonically; attend and/or coordinate ad hoc meetings.

  • Interface with other testing organizations and participate in test related working groups involving EW, IO, and BMD.

  • Coordinate the Request for Information process to address EW/IO/BMD requirements and identify and coordinate the proposed classification of requirements.

  • Conduct EW/IO/BMD Desk Top Analysis during lab based Assurance & Validation events.

  • Perform EW/IO/BMD exercise support planning activities and coordinate findings with CIAV Operations.

  • Write formal reports detailing the results of assessments and exercises.

  • Collaborate with the Event Leads to ensure seamless integration of findings, impacts, and artifacts into a report for submission to the appropriate distribution list as determined by the US CIAV National Lead.

  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant EW/IO/BMD operational processes, technologies, and related subject areas.

  • Apply derivative classification markings and distribution statements to associated US CIAV documents produced for internal and external distribution/publication.

  • Participate in special projects as required.

Education

1.Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.

Qualifications

15-20 years of related experience supporting military operations.

  • Educational equivalency for this position is defined as at least five (5) years of related experience in the field of Electronic Warfare and Information Operations.

  • Requires expert knowledge in electronic warfare, information operations, and Ballistic Missile Defense and an understanding of the Common Operational Picture for friendly force tracking, battlespace objects, and COP management principles.

  • Must have relevant operational EW experience and verifiable expertise with the systems and architectures supporting EW operations.

  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen

  • Experience in planning and conducting mission based interoperability assessments is highly desired.
