Job Description:

Seeking a Sr. UC Collaboration Engineer based in Stuttgart, Germany to be a part of the EUCOM Cisco UC team to support enterprise-wide operations and maintenance of the unclassified, classified and coalition communications networks for EUCOM.

The Sr. UC Collaboration Engineer should have Enterprise level IP Telephony engineering and administration experience in Call Routing, Design, Configuration, troubleshooting and support of mid to large-sized enterprise network environments.

Duties include providing high-level troubleshooting support with day-to-day operations, maintenance, monitoring, upgrades, network performance reviews, improvement action plans, problem determination and resolution, of the EUCOM classified and coalition Video/IP Telephony architecture. Applicant must have a solid understanding of voice technologies, including Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Call Manager), voice gateways / Session Border Controllers, SIP, H.323, Unity Connection, IM &Presence, Jabber, Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX), Cisco Expressway/ VCS, TMS, Prime Collaboration, Meeting Server, MCU and VoIP/Video endpoints is required.

The Sr. UC Collaboration Engineer should have technical expertise and understanding in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as VMWare, Cisco Unified Computing System, Routers, Switches, and Firewalls.

Required Skills

  • Candidates must have an active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Level Clearance

  • A minimum of 7 - 10 years professional experience specific to design and implementation of UC systems.

  • Diagram and Document per EUCOM/RMF standard.

  • Enterprise experience with Cisco Voice and Unified Communications Suite.

  • Strong IP telephony background, with experience in Cisco based solutions and product line.

  • Experience in Routing and Switching topologies: Hands on experience in OS/LAN/WAN protocols pertaining to Cisco Hardware (IOS, NXOS, 802.1Q, VTP, Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol, QoS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and NTP) to plan, design, and support voice on the network.

  • Ability to implement new configurations based on design specifications.

  • Ability to perform the following tasks within a local network architecture: infrastructure design, engineering, implementation, and troubleshooting

  • Willingness to deploy to offsite customer locations when needed to perform job duties

  • Experience utilizing Enterprise ticketing system

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to take ownership of, and focus on critical initiatives.

  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations.

  • Works well inside team environment, positive can do attitude

  • Ability to maintain high quality work to manage multiple critical projects.

  • Experience with Network Management Tools: SNMP V3

Desired Skills

  • Experience and or familiarity with Cisco Nexus product line (Nexus 7k, 5k, 2k)

  • Familiarity with installing and configuring Type 1 Crypto hardware common in DoD networks (such as: KG-175G, KG-250, ViaSAT, KIV-7s)

  • Familiarity with the DISA STIG and IAVM process

  • Good understanding of Cisco UCS environment and VMware

  • Experience in Security topologies: Firewalls, IPS/IDS

Qualifications / Certifications

  • CompTIA CASP (or other certification IAT Level III)

  • The following computing environment certification is required:

  • CCNP Voice or Collaboration

Special Requirements

  • Willingness to work flexible hours

  • Shift work may be required

  • On Call Duties will be required

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

  • Must meet TESA requirements

  • Required to sign for and hard receipt government equipment

  • Willingness to take on other duties as assigned
