Design, document, test, and implement network services and devices. Perform installation, engineering, and maintenance to networked devices. Develops and maintain prescribed procedures to be followed routinely in the form of standard operating procedures. Detects, identify and perform complex problem isolation and resolution throughout the network architecture. Develops root-cause analysis of network related problems and is the focal point of all problem resolution. Utilize monitoring, mapping, and alerting software to perform network management by proactively collecting data and conducting real-time analysis of the performance of the network. May be responsible for key engineering projects. Develops and executes contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages. Provides knowledgeable consulting, and technical guidance to technical review boards, configuration control boards, developers, engineers, and senior managers.
Primarily responsible for operations and maintenance of DoD secure and non-secure IT networks
Continuously uses OS/LAN/WAN protocols pertaining to Cisco Hardware (IOS, NXOS, 802.1Q, VTP, Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol, QoS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, NTP, and VoIP)
Set up, troubleshoot, and manage Virtual Private Networks (VPN): Site to Site, Remote Access, SSL, Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Network (DMVPN)
Technical expert in layer 2 and 3 security technologies: Firewalls, IPS/IDS (i.e. Cisco ASA, Juniper Netscreen)
Design, deploy, and maintain Cisco Nexus product line (i.e. Nexus 7k, 5k, 2k, 1k)
Understand and implement DISA STIGs on network devices
Experience with SNMP Network Management Tools (i.e. Solar Winds, Spectrum)
Capture and analyze sniffer captures
Install and configure Type 1 Crypto hardware common in DoD networks (i.e. KG-175D, KG-250, ViaSAT, KIV-7s)
Experience utilizing Enterprise ticketing system such as Remedy
Experience and or familiarity with Multi-Protocol Labeling System (MPLS)
Experience with transport circuits and termination
Experience with building deployable communications
Experience in Cisco Call Manager (CUCM) design & implementation
Experience in data center design and migration
Experience with deploying 802.1x solutions (i.e. Cisco ISE)
Experience with Cisco UCS implementations/deployments
Experience with virtualized services (i.e. Server virtualization, VDI, zero/thin client)
Familiarity with IPV6
Qualifications / Certifications
CASP CE (or other certification IAW DoD 8570.1 Technical Level III)
One of the following computing environment certifications is required:
CISCO CCNP or CCIE
Candidate must have an active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Works well inside team environment with a positive can-do attitude
Willingness to work flexible hours
Shift work and On Call status may be required
60 Hour Workweek

Temporary deployment to offsite customer locations may be required
