General Dynamics Information Technology Customer Service and Operations Technician in Washington, District Of Columbia
General Dynamics Information Technology is looking for a customer-facing Operations Technician to join a dynamic cross-functional team supporting a mission critical Government production environment on North Capital Street in Washington, DC. You will be our Customer Service lead, working closely with the Government production staff to monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide excellent communication between the operations staff, vendor maintenance staff, and our maintenance/development team. Must have a great can-do attitude, good organizational skills, and an interest in developing your technical skills and knowledge over time. Excellent communication skills are a must.
Provides installation, routine maintenance and troubleshooting support of information systems applications and related peripheral hardware. Environment includes servers, PCs, networking equipment, peripheral hardware, and complex production equipment.
Provides technical support and training to end-users.
Provides software and system troubleshooting and support.
Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems using hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
Installs and configures applications software and related hardware (such as desktops, servers, and related peripherals like printers, scanners, drives, monitors and video teleconferencing hardware).
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
- Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
- 0-5 years of directly related experience supporting information systems operations. Must be able to pass a Government background check.
