GDIT is seeking a NOC Operator to support the management and maintenance of all Enterprise Management Tools for a 24/7/365 operations center within a component agency of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). These tools include management and administration of all Microsoft System Center tools including SCCM, SCOM and SCSM products. Tools also include network management tools such as SolarWinds Enterprise Suite, Netcool, and syslog-NG. Employee will be required to work an after-hours shift to include weekend support during planned or unplanned events.

HOW A NOC OPERATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Responsibilities

  • The Network Administrator will both proactively and reactively monitor the network infrastructure, critical computing systems, and ENTERPRISE services, overseeing functionality, capacity, and performance. Understand IT Infrastructure and application in general to better manage the client's IT Enterprise.

  • Server administration of all Servers running the Enterprise Tool Applications

  • Monitoring Enterprise Tools systems and troubleshooting problems identified

  • Escalating issues to senior team members as needed

  • Administration of network monitoring tools including upgrades and fulfilling network management requests

  • Troubleshooting and deploying applications to workstations or servers

  • Reporting on application, patch, and compliance success

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent plus 5+ years relevant experience

  • Experience using Microsoft System Center tools such as SCCM and SCOM

  • Experience administering processes and applications on Linux servers

  • 3+ years working with Desktop and/or Server incident troubleshooting

  • Understanding of ITSM and ITIL Framework is a plus

  • Candidate must be all to obtain a SECRET CLEARANCE

  • US Citizenship required.

Required Certifications

  • 1 of the following or equivalent:

  • MCSE or MCITP

  • VCP

  • Network+, CCNA or equivalent

Desired Certifications

  • Security+ CISSP, CEH, or CISA

  • ITIL Foundation

The likely salary range for this position is $76,500 - $103,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
