GDIT has an immediate need for a Sr. Configuration Manager to support Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's (FERC) CIO organization to develop and maintain a comprehensive configuration management and change management program. The Sr. Configuration Manager will initiate, track, control, audit, report and document changes and deviation from the baselines. They will manage the existing CMDB (currently in SharePoint), and propose improvements and efficiencies in the management process. The Sr. CM will also work closely with operational teams to integrate change management practices fully within operations and work with project management staff to plan changes associated with large infrastructure initiatives.
Maintain version control over multiple baselines and projects being worked on and/or fielded simultaneously.
Execute and evolve SCM policies and procedures to ensure that the project maintains the integrity of complex software, hardware, and documentation throughout the project life cycle
Collaborate closely with our Infrastructure team, Software development team and Architects to ensure proper support is provided.
Develop, refine, and maintain build and installation processes and procedures
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or similar technical degree
3+ years of experience Software and Infrastructure Configuration Build/Release Management
5+ years of overall IT experience
Strong experience in implementing state of the art CM practices by developing, refining, and maintaining configuration processes and procedures.
Highly motivated – takes initiative to solve problems, and requires minimal oversight. Always strives to do the best job possible
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Excellent troubleshooting & analytical skills
Experience with implementing and managing automate change management tool suites
Nice to Have:
