Our work depends on a SI&T Senior Installation Engineer joining our team to support the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) activities in the Northern Virginia and Washington DC areas.

As a SI&T Senior Installation Engineer supporting PEO IWS, you will be trusted to bring together a multi-disciplinary team that is geographically dispersed to provide engineering planning, design, integration, installation, and test of Aegis Combat Systems (ACS) onboard ships post-construction and during maintenance availabilities. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for combat systems installations ensuring that equipment is properly installed to support Combat System light-off and testing. You will document and provide design correction for discrepancies when discovered (and available).

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Monitor equipment installation and manage installation and cable design change documentation

  • Liaison between shipbuilder and Combat System Executive Agent for equipment installation issues and problem resolution

  • Work with Aegis Test Teams to resolve equipment and cable installation issues. Identify lessons learned

  • Resolve fiber optic repair issues and work with Cable Technicians to facilitate repair and test of fiber optic cables

  • Ensure all installation deficiency issues are identified and documented

  • Assist shipyard in resolution of equipment installation issues

  • Liaison with Government shock team to identify and resolve shock related issues

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • A degree in Engineering or related discipline/experience is required.

  • A US DoD Secret security clearance is required.

  • Over Ten (10+) years of experience as an Installation Engineer for Naval or Combat System program(s)

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of the larger GDIT Navy and Marine Corps Sector

  • A demonstrated ability to work across the Navy/Marine Corps major stakeholder organizations and in particular an understanding of the relationships between NAVSEA, PEO IWS and the Fleet Commands is required to perform this role

The likely salary range for this position is $106,371 - $177,632. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
