Responsible for change/configuration management request, license and software maintenance, and equipment and software warranties, software license management services for software deployed in support of all IT services delivered. Responsible for administrative duties within the IT software management function. Maintains records and databases containing information regarding licenses, warranties, and service agreements for the organization's software. Responsible for day-to-day operations and lifecycle management pertaining to IT software assets within the contracted operating environment. Ensures established software protection, change, maintenance and retention policies, and standards and procedures are followed. Follows established system of control for software assets and manages these assets through their lifecycle from procurement to final disposition.
Five+ (5+) years of configuration management experience, with 2 years of experience related software license management, preferably with an ITSM configuration management database, i.e. ServiceNow CMDB.
· Experience with various software asset management tools
· Strong excel skills are required
· Must be able to work independently and take initiative to identify, track, and resolve issues
· Working knowledge of service desk and field service operations a plus
· Experience implementing and/or using ServiceNow CMDB, discovery, and/or Software Asset Management strongly desired
· Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to simultaneously track multiple Asset Management activities
· Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on customer service, including experience handling challenging situations and conflict resolution
· Experience working on virtual teams
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Social Science or minimum 9 years of experience in lieu of degree
Manages day to day tasks of IT software asset management
Works closely with the Asset Management Analyst for software procurement and management
Maintains records and databases containing information regarding licenses, warranties, and service aggreements, eventually in the ServiceNow CMDB when implemented
Supports software asset management audits and remediation efforts
Provides timely and accurate reconciliation of lifecycle data relating to program assets and the asset tracking system
Investigates and resolves discrepancies to maintain data integrity of the asset data
Works with purchasing agents and Asset Management Analyst, and other teams to manage full lifecycle of software assets
Manages preparation and distribution of pre-defined and ad-hoc reports related to s/w asset management
Works with ServiceNow developers to incorporate software discovery into customers instance of ServiceNow
Participates in ServiceNow requirements gathering to build and deploy processes, requests and workflows that will support customer’s Software Asset Management processes and practices
Builds Check in and Check out license work flows in ServiceNow Service Request module
Accurately tracks software license compliance and usage
Establishes metrics and provides regular reports to POCs as requested
Manages final disposition (excess, destruction, vendor pickup etc) of all software assets
Builds and sustains effective communications with all stakeholders in the project towards the goal of maximizing the customer experience
Engages with cross-functional teams to design and implement IT asset mgmt processes and policies supporting the lifecycle
Audits the execution of processes and adherence to policies
